N Pole Offset
May 22, 2004

The Earth view from the sun via satellite http://www.fourmilab.ch/cgi-bin/uncgi/Earth (center) shows by snowcover what the http://www.weatherunderground.com maps show, that Siberia, equivalent to northern Canada and Norway in latitude, is too warm, the cold offset around the N Pole.

The summer came way too early this year, but the last days it suddenly turned to cold winter with up to 30 centimeters of snow in western Norway. Local farmers says that it has never been snow this late and the snow has already done severe damage on the crops.
