Preventing Another Derailment
San Antonio saw its fourth train derailment this year on Friday. Some San Antonio lawmakers say it will take an act of Congress to solve the problem. News 4 WOAI Trouble Shooter Jeff Coyle asked two local congressmen what they plan to do about the train derailments in San Antonio. Congressman Lamar Smith tells News 4 WOAI he will push for a requirement that rail companies give prior warnings when hazardous materials are headed our way. Congressman Smith says he plans to have the requirements changed as soon as possible, and he believes it won't be difficult to do that. The bigger issue of finding another route for hazardous materials is one that Congressman Gonzalez says he will continue to look into.
