- Jun 29 NOON in Virginia : 10 minutes LATE [3L]
- The Sun's shadow reached my baseline at 1:10PM on 6/29 in VA. A three minute jump and global quakes yesterday.
- Jun 29 NOON in Seattle : 4 minutes LATE [1E]
- 6/29 Reading: 1:16 Chart: 1:12 Sun: 70* Something interesting; remember last year I put another type of shadow caster up to compare with
my first? They ultimately corroborated each other but yesterday there was a 10 minute difference and I do not believe either has changed
orientation. It may be due to the height of the sun but that doesn't make much sense to me. One measures the shadow on a horizontal
surface and the second measures the shadow on a vertical surface. The vertical was 1:28 while the horizontal was 1:18. I forgot to compare
today. I also attached a yardstick to my apparatus to sight the sun, in order to compare to readings with the string. They are identical and I
take 3 independent readings each time to compare. I believe I am very accurate.
