Red Cross

I was checking out the sun, not being able to see anything so I thought I would try using a digital camera, which probably can discern things much better then the human eye.

The presence of the light from the persona at 5 o'clock in the first photo causes the Sun's normal vertical/horizontal flare to skew, creating the Red Cross effect. In the second photo, the light from personas appearing at 10-11 o'clock cause the Winged Globe effect, where the personas are tail feathers and the bird is turning as though for a landing.
