Sunset Sun Photos

These disturbing photos were taken at approximately 7:30 P.M. Eastern time on Tuesday May 6, 2003 in Sarasota, Florida using an Olympus Camedia D-450 Zoom lens 1.3 megapixel Digital. I was heading North on hwy 301 in Manatee County and happened to notice this unusual phenomena appear suddenly out of the Southwestern sky at about 45 degrees to the left of the setting sun. The sighting remained visible for about one hour or until the sun had just set. These photos are remarkably similar to the ones that were taken by Sotos at sunrise in Athens, Greece, although not as vivid as his presentation. If this is indeed the comet Niribu that so many have predicted would appear as a second sun in May then we are all in very serious trouble. I hope I am wrong in my interpretation of this observation.
