- Ngauruhoe faces East. Well before dawn and not in the location where the Sun rises, a red glow can be seen. Note that when the Sun does rise, it is heavily Occulted toward the 8 o'clock area at 7:30 AM, and a separate object appears there close in to the Sun by 8:30 AM.
